MELS (Ministry of Education) Learning and Evaluation Situations

ESL Insights - This ESL site provides various resources to support teachers and pedagogical consultants in implementing the Elementary and Secondary ESL Programs.

Elementary

Cycle 1: 

To help teachers get started while awaiting approved material, the MELS is providing Learning and Evaluation Situations (LES). They will help visualize how to work the program with the little ones, using authentic songs and, speaking English only from day one.

The World of Clowns  Students have fun with clowns and learn a bit about the serious side of clowning. (zip file containing several necessary documents)

Mmm…  Delicious!   Students have fun learning about ice cream.( zip file containing several necessary documents)

Not Anymore!     Students reflect on how pets make them feel.  They listen to a story, make a patch for a paper quilt and play a game. (zip file containing several necessary documents)
